Interclub Foursomes 2024 - Scratch

Thursday – awoke to grey skies and chilly wind – everyone arrived at Ferndown in good time, full of enthusiasm for the day ahead – unfortunately, the rain started, and it got colder. Players remained cheerful and returned some good scores, with the best nett score of the day - 71 by the Bridport Bronze team.

Qualifiers Scratch Broadstone, Ashley Wood, Ferndown & Parkstone, Silver Isle of Purbeck, Sherborne, Parkstone & Broadstone, Bronze Bridport, Broadstone, Ferndown & Came Down. The journey home was very wet – all were worried the rain would continue the next day.

Friday – pleased to see that the sun was back and much warmer – players keen to start their semi finals – some games finished very quickly, others went down the 20th.

Semi Finals – Scratch Broadstone winners 6 & 4 v Ashley Wood & Ferndown 1up v Parkstone, Silver Isle of Purbeck 4 & 3 v Sherborne & Parkstone 1 up v Broadstone Bronze Bridport 1 up v Broadstone & Ferndown had to go to 20th to conquer Came Down.

Very well done to all players – have a good rest after 3 rounds of golf.

Very many thanks to Ferndown for hosting the County Foursomes this year – we could not have managed without the Manager’s help with IG (Chris Huggins) and the Asst Manager Sue Hellikier for all the organisation – Danny Murray Head Green Keeper had his team out early both days ironing greens and trimming the grass – the course looked super. Catering was excellent.
