Women's First Team 2025

The team represents Dorset at the South West Region County Match Week. This leads onto a National Final should the county win.

Several criteria are considered to help decide on players for the squad for the season. These include WHS handicap, recent form in club, county and national competitions.

The team selection is based on what is best for the team and the type of competition we are entering.

The Dorset First Team County Squad is made up of twelve players.

In preparation for County Match Week, the First Team will play a series of warm up fixtures to provide match experience and all players are expected to attend pre-season training sessions.

South West Intercounty Match Week

It was a privilege once again to captain the Ladies 1st team at South West match week held at East Devon Golf club this year.

The week started out a little unsettling for Dorset , as the coastal weather meant a major fog delay on the Monday morning. This resulted in counties only playing a 9 hole match from 12.30pm, unfortunately for Dorset this was a frustrating defeat against Somerset albeit matches went to 9th hole!

The days that remained were glorious sunshine and very successful , meaning 4/5 wins for Team Dorset this week.

The team put 100% effort into every game, there was some fantastic golf played. So many talented women, the team were unlucky to take a strong 2nd place, decided on count back to Somerset.

Congratulations to Evie Brown and Shelley Davies on their debuts to the 1st Team and their outstanding performances!

And to Scarlett Phillips who gained her colours this year.

We will be looking forward to hosting at home next year at Yeovil Golf Club.
